Voter Education in Ethnic Minority Areas

As part of the EU-funded “Fair Elections for Georgia” project, ISFED’s partner organization, the Society of Democratic Women of Marneuli (SDWM), is carrying out a voter education campaign in the region of Kvemo Kartli with the aim of increasing voter awareness on electoral processes, as well as their rights as voters. The trainings are conducted in informal settings in the lead-up elections, and will involve women residing in rural areas. There will be a total of 18 such trainings for each of the two project years, covering various villages in the region, primarily in the municipality of Marneuli. In August, ISFED developed the training modules and handouts for SDWM, and the latter started the voter education campaign in mid-September.
