“Children of the Church” - Upholding the rights of children, residents of religious and local government care institutions, to a family and society

Project Description
The project aims to support the development of family-based care services for vulnerable children managed by the Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC).
Specific Objective
Uphold the rights of children living in Georgian Orthodox Church(GOC) and local government residential care institutions through utilizing the GOC potential for developing and running foster care and other family-based alternatives
Expected Results
1) Established GOC Foster Care (FC) Service together with the Government of Georgia that will provide family-based caring services to children.
2) Creation of special groups to support foster careers to maintain quality based on exchange of knowledge and experience.
3) Developed model for youth living in GOC care for their transition into independent living.
4) Initiative to transfer the disabled children and kids under foster care from GOC into family-based care conditions by 2020
