Georgia: Covenant of Mayors East awards winners of EUSEW2020 photo competitions

In June, the signatory cities and municipalities of the EU-funded ‘Covenant of Mayors’ initiative in Georgia organised a series of virtual events, including several photo competitions. On 17 July, ‘Covenant of Mayors’ held a virtual ceremony to award the winners of the photo competitions ‘Best Online Sustainable Energy Day 2020 – Organiser’ and ‘Best Photo’. The activities were organised within the framework of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW2020) and drew participants from all across Georgia.

Best Online Sustainable Energy Day 2020 – Organiser

  • First place: Maka Petrenko, Mtskheta Municipality City Hall; prize – an electric scooter, solar lamps and a certificate;
  • Second place: Dimitri Gogiashvili, Gori Municipality City Hall; prize – an electric scooter, a solar lamp and a certificate;
  • Third place: Tamar Khoperia, Bolnisi Municipality; prize – a smaller size electric scooter, a solar lamp and a certificate.

Best Photo

  • First place: Nino Jeladze, Telavi; prize – a solar home system and a certificate;
  • Second place: Nukri Kvelashvili, Tbilisi; prize – a smaller size solar home system and a certificate;
  • Third place : Magda Machavariani, Gurjaani, prize – a solar oven and a certificate.
