EU supports sustainable green development in the Black Sea region

On Monday 16 November, starting at 14:00 (CET), the European External Action Service with the support of the European Commission will host an online event on “Sustainability in the Black Sea regional cooperation: Advancing the Black Sea Synergy and the European Green Deal”.

The event is open to public and media participation and will bring together high-level panellists from academia, civil society, business, and diplomacy. It will provide an opportunity to present and discuss the current environmental challenges and sustainable green development in the Black Sea region and the European Union’s role in responding to these challenges and opportunities.

Parallel thematic breakout sessions will focus on sustainable blue economy, environmental resilience and cross-border cooperation and connecting with the Danube.

Background:
The EU’s Black Sea Synergy initiative supports better cooperation in the region, between the countries bordering the Black Sea and beyond. The Synergy offers a flexible framework for developing practical solutions to address regional and global challenges.
